Over 900 Wheelchairs for Injured Gaza Children Remain Held in Jordan, Report Says

More than 900 wheelchairs donated by Australian charities for children injured in Gaza have remained in warehouses in Jordan, according to a report by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The shipments arrived in Jordan between February and October 2025. They were intended for children with severe mobility challenges and permanent disabilities caused by the war. Jordan’s humanitarian charity organisation reportedly applied to include the wheelchairs in a Gaza-bound aid convoy in February 2025. The request was not approved, and has remained pending for 19 months. An Israeli government source said Israel had not blocked the delivery, while the aid coordination agency did not respond to specific questions about the shipments. UNICEF says more than 11,000 children in Gaza have suffered severe, life-changing injuries that require long-term care and rehabilitation.
