Interview Review: Ojy Okpe Presses Peter Obi for Direct Answers

Peter Obi said public figures should answer all questions without restraint. During his interview with Ojy Okpe, she repeatedly brought him back to the specific questions she had asked. When Obi alleged that a former INEC chairman worked for his opponents in 2023, Okpe asked for proof. She also pressed him on whether he would step down for Atiku Abubakar in a genuine coalition, rather than accept broad comparisons about companies and institutions. Her most pointed questions focused on insecurity, subsidy policy and Obi’s claims about the 2023 election. I think she did well to demand direct answers, although some issues, including Datti Baba-Ahmed’s criticism of Obi, were not fully explored.
