Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the NDC’s governorship hopeful in Kano, has selected Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his deputy for the 2027 election. Mustapha, the immediate past Commissioner for Youths and Sports under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, resigned “with a heavy heart” after the political split between Yusuf and his father, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. A spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya movement confirmed the choice, underscoring the ticket’s focus on youth engagement and continuity of political legacy in Kano.
