Arewa Group Urges Phrank Shuaibu to Address Plagiarism Allegations
The Arewa Discussion Group has asked Phrank Shuaibu, a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to publicly respond to plagiarism allegations attributed to US-based Nigerian scholar Farooq Kperogi. The group alleged that Shuaibu reproduced parts of Kperogi’s published articles without attribution on his online platform and during media appearances. It said the claims raise concerns about professional integrity, particularly because Shuaibu is known for commentary on English usage. The group urged Shuaibu to acknowledge the allegations, apologise where necessary and fulfil any compensation reportedly promised. It also asked Atiku and the African Democratic Congress to review his continued role if he does not address the matter. The allegations have not been independently established in this report, and Shuaibu’s response was not included.
