CJTF Commander Killed by ISWAP IED near Baga, Borno

A Civilian Joint Task Force commander died when suspected ISWAP fighters detonated an IED on his vehicle near Baga in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State. The blast occurred along a route by the Lake Chad axis. It destroyed the vehicle and killed the commander instantly. Security analyst Zagazola Makama said the commander was known for his active support of counterinsurgency efforts against terrorists in the North-East. ISWAP has frequently planted IEDs along major roads to target security personnel and pro-government militias in the Lake Chad region.
