Osun Police Arrest Three Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Weapons and Stolen Devices
The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered weapons, electronics, and other stolen items. On April 19, intelligence from a local community led officers to an unfinished building in Iragbiji, where they seized a locally made pistol, a Tecno Android POP 8, a Moniepoint ATM card, a knife, a catapult, and more. Further investigation linked the recovered phone and ATM card to an armed raid on a residence earlier in April. The main suspect admitted owning the bag and some of the weapons but denied taking the phone and card. Technical analysis confirmed the phone’s rightful owner, who reported it stolen along with ₦89,000 at gunpoint. Later that evening, a cooking gas vendor in Isale Oyo was shot in both legs during a robbery that netted cash, two iPhone 11 Pro Max units, and an unregistered blue TVS motorcycle. Police arrested suspects Banji Tope and Banji Olumide and recovered the stolen motorcycle. Efforts continue to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
