Nigeria’s Oil Production Rises to 1.821 Million Barrels Per Day, NNPCL Says
Nigeria’s crude oil production, including condensates, has risen to 1.821 million barrels per day, according to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer Bayo Ojulari said improved regulation and stronger upstream activity had supported the increase. He said the country had achieved more than 80 per cent success in efforts to raise output. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, said active drilling rigs had grown from fewer than 10 to more than 70. The government is targeting production of about three million barrels per day by sustaining drilling and reducing barriers to investment. Official figures put Nigeria’s average crude oil and condensate production at 1,677,777 barrels per day in August, a 0.4 per cent increase from July.
