Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper With ₦1.9 Million Cash in Plateau
Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of having links to a kidnapping syndicate in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The arrest followed reports that suspected kidnappers had collected ransom from victims. Troops intercepted the suspect near a forested area at about 6:30 p.m. on September 26 and recovered ₦1,925,000 cash from a bag in his possession. He reportedly claimed the money came from cattle sales but was unable to provide evidence to support the claim. He remains in military custody as investigations continue into the source of the cash and any possible connection to kidnapping in the area.
