Reno Omokri Says Nigerians Can Survive on ₦3,000 a Day

Former presidential media aide Reno Omokri has said an average Nigerian can survive on ₦3,000 daily, arguing that poverty should be assessed within each country’s economic context. Speaking on a television programme about living costs and global poverty standards, he said he visited markets with a journalist to check the prices of staples including yam, rice, maize and fruits. Omokri said the amount may be inadequate in countries such as the United States, but claimed it can cover basic daily needs in Nigeria.
