Otti Reaffirms 2020 Account of Obi’s $155m Anambra Savings

Abia State Governor Alex Otti says he stands by his 2020 account of how former Anambra governor Peter Obi handled $155 million in state funds. Speaking in a television interview, Otti said he had cited the incident to show that public officials could still manage public resources prudently. Otti, who said he was a bank chief executive at the time, explained that he advised against keeping the funds in naira because of the currency’s declining value. He said the money was subsequently converted to dollars.
