Osun Court Remands Two Brothers Over Alleged Rape of Eight-Year-Old Girl

An Osun State High Court in Osogbo has remanded two brothers, Abiodun Atoyebi, 29, and Sodiq Atoyebi, 33, over allegations involving an eight-year-old girl. The defendants face an eight-count charge of rape and unlawful sexual intercourse. Prosecutors alleged that the offences occurred in Osogbo between 2022 and 2024 and violated provisions of the Osun Child Rights Law, Criminal Code and the state’s Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law. Both men pleaded not guilty when the charges were read. The court ordered their remand in a correctional centre and adjourned the matter to December 1 for the start of hearing.
