NDC Alleges Intimidation and Violence Against Opposition Members in Edo
The Nigeria Democratic Congress in Edo State has accused individuals linked to the APC of intimidating, harassing and attacking its members and supporters ahead of the 2027 elections. At a press briefing in Benin City, party officials alleged unlawful arrests, threats, disruption of meetings, destruction of campaign materials and denial of access to public venues across the state. They also called for an investigation into reported gunfire at an ADC gathering in Igueben. The NDC asked security agencies to investigate all credible complaints impartially and urged Governor Monday Okpebholo to protect the right of political parties to organise peacefully. The APC publicity secretary could not be reached for a response at the time of filing.
