Lagos Police Probe Alleged ₦20,000 Extortion of Dispatch Rider

The Lagos State Police Command says it has begun investigating an allegation that officers attached to the Makinde Divisional Headquarters extorted ₦20,000 from a dispatch rider. The rider recorded officers during a stop-and-search operation on Airport Road, Lagos. He said they accused him of driving against traffic. Although the viral video did not capture the alleged payment, the command confirmed it is aware of the footage and identified the officers involved. The investigation is expected to determine what happened and whether disciplinary action is required.
