Tinubu Praises Retired General Olanrewaju on His 80th Birthday

President Bola Tinubu has lauded Major General Adeniyi Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd) as a patriot and elder statesman on the occasion of his 80th birthday. In a message signed and released by his media office, the President highlighted General Olanrewaju’s distinguished military career. He noted the General’s service during the Civil War, advanced training abroad, and leadership roles as Commander of the Corps of Artillery and General Officer Commanding the 3rd Armoured Division. The President also celebrated the retired general’s contributions as Minister of Communications, which helped modernise Nigeria’s telecom sector. He praised the General’s resilience, faith, and commitment to justice and national reconciliation. On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, President Tinubu wished Major General Olanrewaju many more years of health and fulfilment with his family and loved ones.
