Wike Elevates FCT Traditional Rulers, Pledges Abaji University and Infrastructure
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has approved the upgrade of all traditional stools across the FCT. During a visit to Abaji on March 10, he elevated every second-class ruler to first class and all third-class chiefs to second class, praising their role in peace and cultural preservation. Wike commended Abaji residents for delivering victory in 133 of 135 polling units during the February 21 council elections. He stressed that their loyalty to President Tinubu now demands good governance and real development. Responding to local requests, the Minister ordered a new palace design for the Ona of Abaji, repairs to major erosion sites, completion of an abandoned road, and prompt fixing of the Gurara/Yangoji bridge. He also assured that the FCT University of Science and Technology in Abaji will soon start full operations, creating jobs and attracting investment. Urging residents to beware of opportunistic politicians, Wike called for continued support of the “Renewed Hope” agenda and promised more transformative projects for Abaji soon.
