Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has mourned Chief Dan Orbih, describing the late PDP leader as a prominent Edo politician whose leadership strengthened the party in the state and across Nigeria. Orbih served as Edo PDP chairman and later as the party’s National Vice-Chairman for the South-South. Obaseki said his years in public affairs secured him a notable place in Edo’s political history and that his death is a loss to the state and the nation. Orbih, an ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, died on August 31, 2026, aged 64. He is survived by his wife, children and other family members. He was also chairman of the governing council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
