Kaestyle’s ‘Stylish’ Is a Confident Debut Rooted in Port Harcourt Sound

Kaestyle’s debut album, ‘Stylish’, expands on the melodic R&B and Afropop sound that brought him wider attention with ‘My Dealer’. Across 15 tracks, the Port Harcourt singer leans into stronger songwriting, smoother flows and a clearer sense of identity. The album moves between love, heartbreak, ambition and the economic struggles facing everyday Nigerians. Songs such as ‘Cairo’, ‘One Life’, ‘Bere’ and ‘Eluwa’ draw heavily from Port Harcourt’s street culture and South-South musical influences, with appearances from Ajebo Hustlers, Wizard Chan, Eldee D Don and Duncan Mighty. Its first half favours R&B and soul, while the later tracks explore Afropop, Highlife and Gyration. Although the dance-focused ‘Dey Go’ feels less suited to his strongest qualities, ‘Stylish’ remains an ambitious and enjoyable project that shows Kaestyle’s growth as an artist. The album earns a rating of 7.7 out of 10.
