Nigerian Forces Rescue 31 Hostages and Strike Terrorist Camps in Coordinated Multi-Region Operations
Security forces across Nigeria’s North-West, North-East and North-Central regions have launched synchronized operations against terrorist networks. In Zamfara, troops supported by precision air strikes freed 31 victims held in the Bagega-Kawaye corridor and recovered weapons and ammunition. In neighbouring Katsina State, soldiers intercepted militants near the Ruwan Godiya-Sayaya axis, killing three suspects and seizing motorcycles. Further actions in Maradun and Gidan Dan Jaja led to the destruction of camps and the capture of locally fabricated rifles. An aggressive air campaign in Borno’s Sambisa Forest struck logistics hubs in Biramiri, crippling insurgent supply lines. Similar interdiction missions in Niger State around Rafi and Mariga thwarted planned attacks and disrupted rustling routes. Officials attribute recent successes to a new coordination framework overseen by the National Security Adviser. By fusing intelligence, air surveillance and joint planning, agencies are responding faster and limiting terrorists’ ability to regroup.
