Edo Police Arrest 57-Year-Old Over Alleged Abuse of Six-Year-Old Stepdaughter

The Edo State Police Command says it has arrested a 57-year-old man in Jattu, Auchi, over the alleged repeated sexual abuse of his six-year-old stepdaughter. Police spokesperson ASP Eno Ikoedem said the suspect allegedly confessed during interrogation. The child is receiving medical care under the supervision of the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs. The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be charged after investigations are concluded. The police urged parents and residents to stay vigilant and report abuse involving children.
