Nigerian National Among Four Arrested Over Alleged Fake Parcel Scam in India
Delhi Police have arrested four people, including a Nigerian national, over an alleged fake foreign-parcel scam that promised a victim US dollars and gold. Investigators said the suspects allegedly built trust with the victim through messages and phone calls before claiming that a parcel had been sent in his name. The victim was then allegedly pressured to make payments to clear the supposed consignment. Police said digital evidence and financial records led them from Delhi to Telangana and Visakhapatnam. Seven phones were seized, while three Indian suspects were accused of supplying mule bank accounts and the Nigerian suspect was alleged to have impersonated immigration, customs and other officials.
