Sowore Pledges to Use Nigerian Hospitals and Scrap First Lady Office if Elected
African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore says he would not travel abroad for medical treatment if elected president in 2027. During an interview on Channels Television, Sowore said any illness that could not be treated in Nigeria should be allowed to take its course. He said the pledge reflects his commitment to improving confidence in Nigeria’s healthcare system. Sowore also said he would not create or retain an Office of the First Lady, which he described as unconstitutional. He said women would still have a voice in his administration, while public funds would be directed towards projects and national development.
