Four Nigerians Arrested in India as Authorities Seize Drugs Worth ₦2.1bn

Indian narcotics authorities have arrested four Nigerians over an alleged drug-trafficking network after seizing narcotics valued at about ₹15 crore, or roughly ₦2.1 billion, in operations across Delhi and Gurugram. Authorities said the raids, which began on July 18, recovered amphetamine, pseudoephedrine, cocaine and heroin. Two suspects were also accused of overstaying their medical visas, while one was reportedly wanted in connection with an alleged cyber-fraud case. The Narcotics Control Bureau said an unidentified African woman was injured after allegedly jumping from a balcony while trying to escape during a raid in Mehrauli. The agency has announced a nationwide operation targeting foreign nationals suspected of overstaying their visas and engaging in drug trafficking.
