Newborn Rescued After Being Abandoned at Jos Mining Site
Residents rescued a newborn boy who was abandoned in an uncompleted building at a mining site in Naraguta community, Jos North LGA of Plateau State. Children playing near the building reportedly heard the baby crying and alerted adults in the area. The baby, whose umbilical cord was still attached, was taken to a hospital by security personnel for medical care. A community leader said placenta remains were found at the location, indicating that the child may have been delivered there. The matter has been reported to authorities, who are expected to investigate and try to identify the mother while prioritising the baby's welfare.
