Fayose Claims PDP May Miss 2027 Ballot Despite INEC Candidate List
Political commentator Isaac Fayose has claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party may not appear on the ballot for the 2027 general elections. He alleged that the ruling APC was trying to weaken opposition parties and restrict their political activities. However, INEC’s final presidential candidate list, published on September 12, 2026, includes Sandy Ojang Onor as the PDP candidate for the January 16, 2027 election. This contradicts Fayose’s claim that the party will be absent from the ballot. Fayose also alleged that opposition figures, including Peter Obi, had faced obstacles while mobilising supporters in some states. He criticised the Tinubu administration over economic hardship, but the allegations were not independently verified in the report.
