Osun NURTW Clash Leaves Three Police Officers Injured; Major Arrest Made

The Osun State Police Command has arrested suspects following a violent clash between rival National Union of Road Transport Workers factions in Osogbo. On July 20, a protest over garage access escalated into gunfire at Oke-Ijetu. Officers from the Anti-Robbery and Violent Crime Response Unit responded and three policemen were wounded. One key suspect, Adedeji Saheed Opeyemi, was detained at the scene. He confessed involvement and handed over two pump-action guns. Police also recovered expended cartridges, vehicles, motorcycles, a military camouflage and charms. Earlier, on July 19, three robbery suspects were arrested with a stolen Bajaj motorcycle. A further two men were arrested on July 16 for causing mayhem around Amadia. All suspects remain in custody and will be charged after investigations conclude.
