Kwara Receives 163 Rescued Woro Kidnap Victims as 13 Remain Missing
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has received 163 victims rescued after they were abducted during the February 3 attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area. The victims were handed over by the Nigerian Army in Ilorin after 48 hours of medical treatment and trauma care. AbdulRazaq praised the intelligence-led operation and the joint efforts of the military and other security agencies. The rescue was part of a wider operation that freed 308 abductees from hideouts across Kwara and neighbouring Niger State. Community leaders said 13 people are still missing and appealed for search efforts to continue. They also disclosed that some women gave birth while in captivity. The state government said the returnees will receive medical care, counselling and rehabilitation support as they recover and reunite with their communities.
