PDP Says APC Governors Fear Wike’s Support for Tinubu Ahead of 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party says APC governors are wrong to oppose FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s support for President Bola Tinubu while he remains a PDP member. The party said Wike’s backing of Tinubu does not amount to joining the APC or giving up PDP’s right to field candidates against APC governors in 2027. PDP argued that the governors’ opposition reflects concern about facing a more organised opposition. It urged them to focus on governance, accountability and the use of FAAC allocations rather than attempts to limit political competition.
