Ukraine Launches Major Drone Strike on Moscow, Hitting Oil Refinery

Ukraine launched a large overnight drone attack on Moscow, according to Russian authorities, who said air defences intercepted hundreds of drones approaching the capital. The strike reportedly hit the Moscow Refinery, causing a major fire, while nearby buildings and infrastructure were also affected. Officials in the Moscow region reported two deaths and about 20 injuries, including children. Flights were temporarily suspended at Moscow’s main airports as authorities responded to the attack. The attacks came as Russia held parliamentary elections and as Kyiv and Moscow continued targeting each other’s energy infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine used domestically produced drones and cruise missiles against facilities that finance Russia’s war effort.
