Lawyer Says Jordan Wike’s $2.1m Land Dispute Involves 3.2 Hectares, Not 60
Counsel to Safwan Garba and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited says their civil suit against Jordan Nwosu Wike concerns a 3.2-hectare joint-venture land deal in Guzape and Katampe, not the 60 hectares widely discussed online. The lawyer said the agreement required his clients to provide $4.2 million for residential development, while Jordan would contribute 1.5 hectares in Guzape and 1.7 hectares in Katampe. He alleged that $2.1 million was paid as part of the investors’ contribution, but Jordan has denied receiving the money and challenged the documents presented. According to the counsel, discussions began remotely on September 26, 2025, while the alleged cash payment was made on October 17, 2025, in Gwarimpa, Abuja. He said witnesses had testified on the alleged payment and that the claimants had completed their case. The matter has been adjourned to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026. The claimants’ lawyer also said he requested that the case be transferred over alleged community and family ties between Jordan and the presiding judge, while the parties await an update on a related petition to the EFCC.
