Niger Police Arrest Eight in Minna Raids, Rescue Suspected Bike Thieves
Police in Niger State say they arrested eight suspects during raids on identified blackspots in the Maitumbi area of Minna. Officers reportedly recovered knives, cutlasses, sickles and cannabis from the suspects. The command also said it rescued two men accused of stealing a motorcycle from a mob in Kontagora. The men allegedly confessed to taking the motorcycle from a home in the Federal Low Cost area. In a separate case, police arrested a 35-year-old man accused of posing as a medical doctor and administering drugs and injections. He allegedly collected ₦30,000 from people he claimed to treat. Police say investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court when concluded.
