Arabambi Files FOI Suits Seeking WAEC, UNN and NYSC Records on Peter Obi’s Credentials
Labour Party chieftain Abayomi Arabambi has filed three Freedom of Information suits at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking records from WAEC, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the National Youth Service Corps relating to Peter Obi’s academic credentials. The cases, filed between September 1 and 9, 2026, ask the institutions to release existing records linked to specified WAEC, UNN and NYSC certificate numbers. Arabambi said his earlier requests for the documents were either declined or received no response. He said the suits do not ask the court to rule on whether any certificate is genuine or forged. Instead, he wants the institutions to disclose records in their custody, arguing that transparency over the credentials of people seeking public office is in the public interest.
