Showunmi Says North-Central Must Unite and Mobilise Votes for Presidency
Segun Showunmi says disunity and weak political coordination have limited the North-Central’s chances of producing an elected president. Speaking in Makurdi, he urged Benue and other states in the region to mobilise voters, build stronger alliances and avoid divisions that weaken their influence in national politics. Showunmi also defended the Federal Government’s economic reforms despite their hardship on citizens. He said stronger security coordination, military recruitment and a legally backed state police system could help address insecurity in Benue and other affected states.
