Lagos and Delta Proposed for Up to $1bn AI Data Centre Investment
Nigeria could attract between $650 million and $1 billion for two AI-ready data centres planned for Lagos and Delta States under INFRAGORA Global Capital’s AFRIDATA platform. The facilities are expected to launch with a combined capacity of 60 to 70 megawatts and could later expand to 100MW. Construction is targeted for the second quarter of 2027, subject to feasibility studies, design work and project financing. The plans are supported by a $1.87 million feasibility-study grant and include a proposed power plant using gas, renewable energy and battery storage. The wider platform also proposes an ICT business park, AI training academy and startup support hub.
