2025 Survey Ranks Ogun Worst for Road Quality as South-West Has Most Low-Ranked States
A 2025 public-perception survey on road quality has ranked Ogun State last among Nigeria’s 36 states. Kogi and Imo followed in 36th and 35th place respectively. The 12 lowest-ranked states were Ogun, Kogi, Imo, Taraba, Ondo, Edo, Anambra, Delta, Bayelsa, Kwara, Kaduna and Ekiti. The South-West had the highest number of states on the list, with Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti. The figures are based on residents’ assessments in the 2025 pSPI Report, as shared by a data analytics platform. They reflect public satisfaction with road conditions, not a technical engineering inspection of every road. The ranking is likely to renew debate about road maintenance, state infrastructure spending and federal road rehabilitation across Nigeria.
