Lifeline Safety Audits: What Saudi Site Managers Must Prepare For
Safety audits of lifeline systems are becoming stricter across Saudi Arabia’s construction and industrial sites. Auditors assess more than the cable itself. They review anchor-point certification, structural approvals, inspection tags, load ratings, system suitability and worker training records. Documentation gaps are a common reason for non-compliance. Missing inspection logs, expired certificates or unclear approval records can raise concerns even where the equipment appears to be in good condition. Site managers should keep records updated in one place, confirm structural sign-off for every installation and ensure workers’ training has not expired. Independent third-party inspections are also increasingly expected on major projects. If an uncertified anchor point is found, the system may be removed from service until it is structurally verified and certified. Although documentation may vary by project size, all sites need verified anchors, regular inspections and trained users.
