Businesswoman Recounts Gunpoint Robbery That Cost Her Cash, Gold and Luxury Watches
A businesswoman has recalled how armed robbers allegedly broke into her home while she was asleep in December and demanded foreign currency, gold and other valuables. She said the intruders threatened her and her son before she handed over about $7,000, nearly ₦2 million, jewellery and other luxury items. The robbers also reportedly found two Rolex watches belonging to her and her husband. She said the incident lasted less than 10 minutes, but her main concern was keeping her son safe. She also raised questions about her nanny’s actions during the robbery, saying the nanny appeared to know more about the intruders’ movements than she first thought.
