Abuja Designer Confronts Trader Over Alleged Sexual Remarks About a Child at Garki Market
An Abuja-based fashion designer confronted a trader at Garki International Market after allegedly hearing him make sexual remarks about a young girl operating a POS stand. The incident reportedly happened at Obasanjo Block while the designer was shopping for fabric. He said the girl appeared to be between seven and 10 years old and was helping with her mother or guardian’s business. According to his account, other adults defended the trader and commented on the child’s clothing. The designer said he spoke up because sexualising children should never be normalised.
