Enough Condolences, Take Action Now – NLC to Tinubu After Oyo School Kidnappings
The Nigeria Labour Congress has urged President Tinubu and security chiefs to confront the surge in insecurity following the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State. At least 30 pupils and seven teachers were kidnapped from Community High School, L.A. Basic School in Ahoro Esinele, and First Baptist School in Yawota, all in Oriire Local Government Area. One of the seized teachers was reportedly decapitated by the bandits, sparking nationwide outrage and calls for an immediate rescue operation. The NLC warned that Nigerians are tired of sermons and condolences. “We demand action now. Where there is a will, there will be a way,” the union declared, urging security agencies to act before more lives are lost.
