Sanwo-Olu Explains Delay in Opening Opebi-Odoiya Alaro Bridge
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the Opebi-Odoiya Alaro Bridge will open after workers complete the installation of a 25-metre steel monument on the structure. During an inspection of the site, the governor said the monument was added late to the project’s design. The structure is intended to reflect the area’s history as a cane market, with four steel hands representing cane weaving. Sanwo-Olu said the installation is about 80 per cent complete and must be safely finished before traffic is allowed on the bridge. He assured residents that the bridge would be ready for use during the Yuletide period.
