Wike Says Ireti Kingibe Will Not Return to Senate in 2027

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has said Senator Ireti Kingibe will not retain the FCT Senate seat in 2027. The remarks follow a dispute over Kingibe’s allegation that the FCT Administration obtained loans without National Assembly approval. Wike rejected the claim, saying government borrowing must be reflected in the budget and approved through the appropriate process. Speaking after inspecting projects in Abuja, Wike said the FCT needs stronger representation and predicted that Philip Aduda would receive support for the Senate seat in 2027.
