Navy Arrests Suspected Impostor, Alleged Burglar at Anambra Checkpoint
The Nigerian Navy has arrested two suspects in separate operations at the Awkuzu checkpoint in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. One suspect was allegedly found with an identity card claiming he was a naval officer while travelling from Lagos to Enugu. Naval personnel said he could not provide satisfactory proof that he belonged to the service. In a separate operation, officers pursued a minibus that allegedly ignored an order to stop. They arrested one occupant and recovered solar batteries, lights, cables, burglary tools, phones and other items believed to be linked to a shop break-in. Both suspects were handed over to the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu for further investigation. The owner of the burgled shop reportedly identified and recovered the solar equipment.
