Police Rescue Seven Travellers After Bandit Attack on Katsina Road

Police in Katsina State say they rescued seven travellers after suspected bandits intercepted their vehicle on the Kankara-Dutsin-Ma road. The incident reportedly happened near Unguwar Kanawa-Dantudu village on September 21. The driver and six passengers were travelling from Kaduna State to Dutsin-Ma when the armed group blocked the road. Police operatives responded to a distress call and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, who fled the scene. The seven occupants were taken to hospital, certified stable and reunited with their families. Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and urged residents to provide credible information on criminal activity.
