Five Nigerian Entertainers Who Taught Before Finding Fame
Before becoming household names in music, film, comedy and television, some Nigerian entertainers spent time teaching and mentoring students. Patience Ozokwor taught for four years after earning an NCE from the Women’s Training College in Lagos. Niniola gained classroom experience during her teaching practice at Clegg Girls Secondary School in Surulere and later worked as a supervisor at her father’s school. Denrele Edun taught primary school pupils and worked as a private tutor before continuing his education. Ali Baba has also listed lesson teaching among the many jobs he held before establishing his comedy career. Gospel singer Akintunde Elijah studied Mathematics and Computer Science at NCE level and worked as a teacher before focusing more fully on music.
