Security Forces Apprehend Suspected ISWAP Informant in Gombi
On March 23, 2026, troops of Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI teamed up with Civilian Hunters and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria to arrest a suspected ISWAP and Boko Haram informant in Gombi, Adamawa State. The 25-year-old suspect, Abdullahi Umar of Gwoza, was taken into custody after credible intelligence placed insurgent elements within the 232 Battalion’s area of responsibility. Preliminary questioning revealed that Umar was mapping routes to military installations and identifying vulnerable entry points for future attacks. He also confessed to involvement in the recent ambush on troops in Ngoshe. Umar remains in military custody as investigations continue and appropriate action is taken.
