Four Plaintiffs Withdraw Lawsuits Challenging Yayi’s 2027 Ogun Governorship Bid

Four plaintiffs have withdrawn legal actions challenging the 2027 Ogun State governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. According to a statement from Adeola’s media adviser, Kayode Odunaro, the notices of discontinuance were filed and recorded in open court. One case was withdrawn on August 24, 2026, while three others were discontinued on September 7. The suits named Adeola, the Independent National Electoral Commission and the APC among the defendants. One case also listed Guardian Newspapers Limited and the Inspector-General of Police. A claim that the withdrawals followed promises or coercion remains unverified.
