PFIPC Controversy: Police Arrest Adeyemi’s Father in Ogbomoso
Police raided the home of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi in Ogbomoso and took his elderly father into custody. A family friend who visited the house that morning was also detained, leaving Adeyemi’s mother distressed. Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has questioned the legality of arresting the father for alleged offences linked to the disowned Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. Falana called it a case of “substituted arrest” since Adeyemi himself pledged to appear in court. The PFIPC is not recognised by the Presidency, which insists it was never established under President Tinubu’s administration. Observers say this latest move raises serious concerns over due process in law enforcement.
