Zamfara Residents Block Deputy Governor’s Convoy Over Deadly Gwashi Attack

The residents said they were angry over a recent attack that killed at least nine security operatives and several civilians. Witnesses said the crowd chanted that the government had failed them and surrounded the convoy, forcing the deputy governor and his security team to seek cover. The situation remained tense as residents demanded better protection against bandit attacks in the area. The Zamfara State Government had not issued an official response at the time of the report.
