Lagos Court Remands Woman Over Alleged OPay Staff Impersonation
A Lagos Magistrate Court has remanded 31-year-old Funke Femiloba over allegations that she impersonated a staff member of OPay Digital Services Limited to obtain money from members of the public. Police arraigned her on September 24, 2026, on four counts, including conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretence, impersonation and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The charges relate to alleged incidents in Ikeja in September. The prosecution also alleged that she acted with other suspects who are still at large. The court ordered her remand in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service and adjourned the case until November 30, 2026, for hearing.
