Tragic Discovery: Nursing Student Found Slain in Imo State Lodge
Wendy Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing Umuadara Umulogho, was found dead in her off-campus room on Thursday, May 21. Neighbors forced their way into the locked lodge after she failed to respond to calls and discovered her body with a slit throat. Her mobile phone was missing and the door remained locked with the key inside. The victim, originally from Ngwa in Abia State, had completed her midwifery programme and was undergoing post-basic training at the institution. The Imo State Police confirmed the discovery and said officers recovered the body, deposited it in the morgue, and have launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances and apprehend those responsible.
