FG Says There Are No Plans to Increase Electricity Tariffs
The Federal Government says it has no plans to increase electricity tariffs, despite reports suggesting otherwise. Speaking at the groundbreaking of a 17.7-megawatt interconnected mini-grid project in Ibadan, the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, said the government is focused on building a reliable 24-hour electricity supply. He said the plan will begin with energy corridors covering Lagos-Ogun, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano, and Benin-Enugu-Port Harcourt. These corridors are expected to serve as models for expanding stable power supply across the country.
